I don’t particularly appreciate cleaning up data or tables. Engineers at Facebook don’t either, so they invented a system to clean them. Neat!

Dagster just started to open source its internal data platform, following other companies like GitLab and Meltano. Please take a look into it; it’s one of the few examples of a large-scale data platform completely in action.

It’s interesting to see data roles ever more specialized. Some people, like the author of this article, try to push in the other direction for more data generalists among us.

My answer would be: no, of course not, But don’t listen to me; read what one of the founders of the data mesh has to say about it.
